PURPOSE:To manufacture very simply the titled homogeneous zirconium oxide by sticking a salt of a rare earth element to zirconium hydroxide and roasting the zirconium hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:Zirconium hydroxide represented by a formula ZrO(OH)2.nH2O is mixed with a soln. of a salt of a rare earth element in a solvent to stick the salt to the zirconium hydroxide. La, Ce, Nd, Pr, Sm, Gd, Y or the like is used as the rare earth element, and the salt is hydrochloride, sulfate, nitrate or the like. The zirconium hydroxide having the stuck salt is roasted at the thermal decomposition temp. of the salt or above for about several - several ten min. |
