PURPOSE:To ensure a prolonged, stable oscillation of laser by a method wherein a reactor that is a component of a DC power source is regulated on the basis of the values of the output of the DC power source. CONSTITUTION:The DC voltage supplied to a laser tube 1A is detected by a voltage-detecting circuit 13 and the detected value is put into a regulating circuit 14 and servo amplifying circuit 16. The regulating circuits 14 causes a pulse generating circuit 15 to generate prescribed regulating pulses, which regulate the striking angle of arc for a thyristor constituting a rectifying circuit 11. The detected value fed into the circuit 16 is sent into a saturable reactor regulating circuit 17 after amplification, and the circuit 17 regulates the reactance presented by a saturable reactor 10 and, occasionally, regulates the power to be supplied to a smoothing circuit 12. Whith the circuit being constructed as such, the regulation of the DC power source can be effected more appropriately. A DC discharge power source realizes a stable laser oscillation that can be maintained for a prolonged period time. |
