PURPOSE:To obtain an active material which stably works regardless of repetition of charging and discharging by once making a mixed crystal of stable nitrate, sulfate, chloride, or mixed salt with cobalt and nickel before forming hydroxide of cobalt and nickel by treating with alkali solution and after this by treating with alkali solution. CONSTITUTION:An active material made by treating mixed crystal cobalt salt and nickel salt such as CoSO4-NiSO4 group, CoCl2-NiCl2 group, or Co(NO3)2- Ni(NO3)2 group with alkali solution such as sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide solution is used for the positive plate. For example, among the carbon salt and nickel salt such as cobalt sulfate, nickel sulfate, cobalt chloride, nickel chloride, cobalt nitrate, and nickel nitrate, cobalt salt and nickel salt are selected and mixed, and a mixed crystal of cobalt and nickel is made by such as heating. The product obtained by treating the mixed crystal with alkali solution is washed, dried, and then crushed to fine powder. The powder, after kneading together with such as conductive material binder, and water is press fitted to a supporting body such as a nickel mesh and dried to manufacture a positive plate. |
