PURPOSE:To prevent shock and trouble by forming a discharge-side pressure introducing hole for introducing a high pressure onto the back surface of a bypass valve, at the position which can be closed by a bypass valve whose bypass opening is opened at the max., thus preventing the sharp rise of the back-surface side pressure of the bypass valve. CONSTITUTION:Since a solenoid valve 15 is in closed state immediately after the start of a compressor, a branched passage 27 is closed, and the high-pressure coolant in a compression chamber A flows onto the back surface of a spool 19 through the gap 28 formed between the outer peripheral surface of the spool 19 and the inner peripheral surface of a control chamber 21 through a passage 26 and an introducing hole 20 which communicates to a control chamber 21. In other words, the amount of coolant which flows onto the back surface of the spool 19 is regulated. Therefore, the back-surface pressure of the spool 19 gently rises, and the spool 19 operates slowly against a spring 22, and a bypass hole 18 is gradually closed. Therefore, the compressor transforms from a small-capacity state to a large-capacity state, and the sharp increase of load is obviated, and the trouble of the compressor can be reduced.
