发明名称 OPTICAL CHARGING SILVER-HALOGEN CELL
摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent back electromotive force from being generated by forming a space extending from the back of a glassy transparent substrate to a positive electrode layer over a portion without a conductor layer on a silver halide. CONSTITUTION:Light emanated from the top surface of a glassy transparent substrate 5 arrives at a silver halide layer 7 and decomposes the silver halide to silver and halide. The silver so freed deposites on the back of the glass substrate 5 to form a positive electrode together with a silver layer 6. On the contrary, a most part of the freed halogen quickly diffuses into a halogen capturing and fixing material layer 9 through a groove 8 anf fixed to construct a negative electrode. In such a way, a cell is charged by irradiating light. In contrast with this, halogen is separated away from the halogen capturing and fixing material layer 9 due to discharge of the cell to an external circuit, and recombined with the liberated and separeted silver in the silver halide layer 6, whereby it returns to a state before charging the cell. There is therefore produced very little concentration electromotive force, i.e., counter electromotive force due to a remarkable difference of halogen concentration between positive and negative electrodes in the silver halide layer.
