PURPOSE:To increase the permissible width of the interval between a developing roller and an electrostatic latent image surface by flocking soft magnetic and conductive fiber bodies on the peripheral surface of the nonmagnetic rotary sleeve of the developing roller. CONSTITUTION:Fiber bodies 10 are magnetized with the magnetic field produced by a soft magnet 1 and toner 7 sticks on peripheries of tips with magnetic force. When the fiber bodies 10 are a little bit longer than a development gap, the tips curve to form a brush shape. Consequently, the gap between the both corresponds to 1-2 toner particles and its variation is extremely small. Further, the fiber bodies 10 are conductive and couple electrically with the rotary sleeve 2. Therefore, the permissible width of the distance between the rotary sleeve 2 and electrostatic latent image surface increases extremely and development gap adjustments in a device production line are decreased greatly; even if there are a secular change of the device and difference in toner quality among lots, the picture quality of a copy is hardly influenced by them and the need for maintenance is nearly eliminated. |
