<p>A PROCESS AND AN APPARATUS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A FLOWABLE REACTION MIXTURE FORMING A FOAM This invention relates to a process and an apparatus for the production of a flowable reaction mixture for forming a foam, preferably based on polyurethanes, in which process at least two flowable reaction components are mixed together in a metered ratio under pressure, at least one of these reaction components having been charged with gas before mixing. A defined volume charge of the reaction component to be charged with gas, which is under pressure, is introduced into a closed chamber and the charge is relaxed to a second pressure, then enough gas is introduced into the relaxed charge until the charge which is now loaded with gas expands to a second defined volume inside the closed chamber, at which time the gas introduced into the charge is placed in solution by applying an appropriate higher pressure, and finally, the charge, which is loaded with gas, is at least partly mixed with a second reaction component in a predetermined ratio. The apparatus includes a special intermediate working container which has special pressure- and volume-adjusting devices.</p> |
