PURPOSE:To make the automation of equipment possible and improve the rate of production markedly, by dewatering a water-containing amino resin by heating in a kneader, discharging the mixture in the form of a water-containing liquid sheet, and solidifying this sheet by heat drying. CONSTITUTION:An amino resin is produced by addition-polymerizing an amino group-containing compound such as urea or melamine with formaldehyde in a reaction kettle. The liquid water-containing amino resin obtained in this way is fed to a kneader such as an open-heating kneader and dewatered by heating. When the water content reaches about 15wt%, the mixture is discharged from the kneader in the form of an about 1-10mm. thick liquid sheet and placed on a heating steel belt or a heating drum, where it is further reacted and continuously dewatered by heating to obtain a sheet of a solid amino resin of a water content of about 7wt%.
