PURPOSE:A sex attractant for Matsumuraeses falcana belonging to the genus Tortricidae of Lepidoptera as an important insect pest of beans, comprising a mixture of (E)-8-dodecenyl acetate and (E,E)-8,10-dodecadienyl acetate as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A sex attractant for Matsumuraeses falcana comprising a mixture of (E)-8-dodecenyl acetate and (E,E)-8,10-dodecadienyl acetate as an active ingredient. Each of the two components does not individually show sexually attracting action on Matsumuraeses falcana at all, but excellent sexually attracting action is exhibited only by blending them. The active component is directly processed into preparation or it is dissolved in hexane, etc., supported on a carrier, and made into preparation by adsorbing it on a plastic such as PE, etc. or rubber, by sealing it within a plastic capsule or capillary tube with one end sealed, or by other methods.
