PURPOSE:To make it possible to effect an engine brake operation during running on a curved path, and as well to smoothly accelerate in the vicinity of the terminal point of the curved path, by rapidly shifting down the speed change ratio of an automatic speed change gear upon running a curve path. CONSTITUTION:In a condition of a point X on a speed shift characterisic chart, at which a vehicle speed is Vx and a throttle opening degree is thetax, that is, when a signal from an angular velocity sensor exceeds a predetermined value since a vehicle starts to run on a curved path during the vehicle runs at a third shift stage, shift curves A, B, C, d are turned into shift curves A', B', C', D', respectively. With this compensation, the point X crosses the shift curve C' so that shift-down is made from the third shift stage to the second shift stage. Accordingly, compensation by change-over is effected in the direction of shift-down when the running mode of the vehicle is turned into the curve path running mode, so that a suitable engine brake operation is effected and as well the vehicle may smoothly run on a curved path. |
