PURPOSE:To facilitate starting of car by providing a clutch mechanism for transmission system between stepless speed change mechanism and axle and interrupting the clutch mechanism upon droppage below specific speed level when stopping the car or when not travelling. CONSTITUTION:Rotation of output shaft 3 of internal-combustion engine 1 is transmitted through first transmission mechanism 4 containing a chain 7 to the input shaft of stepless speed change mechanism 8 and to transmit the speedchange output of said mechanism 8 through second transmission mechanism 17 comprised of gear series 18, 19 to an axle 22 fixed with a wheel 23. Here, a clutch mechanism 21 is arranged between the intermediate shaft 20 of second transmission mechanism 17 and the axle 22. Said clutch mechanism 21 is controlled by a controller 35 in accordance to the outputs from a switch 36 for selecting travel/non-travel of car and a brake switch 38. In other word, it is controlled such that when non-travel is selected or when the car speed drops below predetermined level under selection of travel and during brake operation, said clutch mechanism 21 is interrupted. |
