<p>The brake unit is intended for the drive train of a road vehicle, comprising an i.c engine with a flywheel (1) and a clutch which has a friction disc (4) and pressure group (2,3) and mounted against the flyweheel. The disc, which is arranged between the flywheel and the pressure plate (3) is connected with the input shaft (5) of a gearbox with clutch housing (16) via a spline (17) and the output shaft of the gearbox, drives the wheels via a prop shaft. The brake actuator (9) is arranged between the clutch and the gearbox. It is concentric with the shaft (5) and coupled with the flywheel via a splined (8,21) bush (7) and connector disc (6). The unit may consist of a disc (9) with radial blades (11) facing radial blades (12) of a fixed disc (14), the annular space containing the blades (11,12) being provided with an inlet (19) and an outlet (20) for oil from and to a heat exchanger.</p> |
