<p>The mechanism is arranged between a tractor (1) with four-wheel drive and a trailer (2) coupled via a towing bar (17) on the trailer. This counteracts tractor front wheel lift due to downward load of the trailer on the tractor coupling (3). A bracket (16) on the towing bar (17) carries a hydraulic cylinder (7) via a ball joint (15). A nitrogen-filled (13) hydraulic pressure accumulator (8) is connected to the cylinder, whilst its piston rod (11) is coupled (12) to the rear of the tractor. The hydraulic pressure (9) in the accumulator is controllable from the tractor cab. A forward force is exerted on the tractor above its rear wheels which counteracts the rearward tipping moment of the coupling load.</p> |
