The Ic engine has one or more constrictions between the piston and the cylinder head. The fuel chamber contains components that set the fuel-air mixture into rotary flow. One wall of the fuel chamber (5) is formed by the valves (4), the cylinder head (3) surface between the valves, and the confronting surface of the piston (2). The side walls (6, 11) of the fuel chamber extend near the periphery of the valves and near the surface between the valves.
