PURPOSE:To enable easy production at a low cost by winding optical fibers on a bobbin having an approximately circular section and fixing the fibers then cutting the incident surface and exit surface across the entire optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:Plastic fibers 3 are of the total reflection type for which a PMMA resin is used as the core. Such fibers are orderly wound on a bobbin 4. The radius 5 of the bobbin 4 is determined in relation with the fiber diameter in a way as not to decrease transmittance. The fibers are adhered to each other while an adhesive agent is coated thereto during orderly winding. The fibers are taken out of the bobbin 4 after fixing and are cut like solid lines 9 by an ultrasonic cutter by which two light guides 3, 8 having different shapes are obtd. simultaneously. There is no waste at all of the fibers. |
