Thienyl or furyl 3-benzazepine derivs. of the formula (I) and their salts are new: (where R = H, phenethyl, benzyl, 1-5 C alkanoyl (incl. HCO-, CH3CO-, CF3CO-), 1-5 C alkyl, HOCH2CH2 or 3-5 C alkenyl; R1 = H, halo, CF3-, methylthio, CF3S-, CH3 or CH3O; R2 and R3 = H, 1-5 C alkyl or 2-5 C alkanoyl, or together form -CH2- or -CH2CH2-; R4 = H, halo, -CH2CN, -COOCH3 or CH3; X = O or S).
