A flexible composite tube includes >=1 helix of a polyolefin forming an integral part of the wall of the tube. Pref. polyolefin is a high-density polyethylene of very high mol. wt. the tube itself being of vulcanised rubber. Pref. the helices of the polyethylene overlap one another and are positioned so as to form a complete interior layer of the tube. Used for mfr. of large dia. pipes used to transport water, effluent, etc.
