PURPOSE:To simplify the timing adjustment of devices in an automatic winder and as well to facilitate the maintenance thereof, by detecting whether a unit is in the operating condition or not upon control of the winder so that a microcomputer controls a doffing device, a bypass device, etc. CONSTITUTION:In an automatic winder 5, after the number of units and the number of spooled threads which are necessary for winding up one cheese are set in the central process unit 8 of a microcomputer, the computer computes a unit number when each unit passes through a unit confirming device S1. Then, an operation detecting device S2 determines whether the associated unit is in the operating condition or not, and if it is in the nonoperating condition, a bypass device 3 is operated. If it is in the operating condition, a remaining thread detecting device S3 determines whether the thread remains on a bobbin or not. If any remaining thread is there, the bypass device is operated, and an intermediate thread breakage S4 detects the presence of an intermediate thread breakage. If any intermediate thread breakage is detected, a relay device 7 is operated to carry out the relay. If no thread is on the bobbin, an automatic doffing machine 2 is operated. |
