The device is intended to compensate for tolerances between metal sliders or cursors of fittings and the hollows which are undercut in profiled rails used for the guidance of these sliders or cursors. The slider 1 is hollowed, at the longitudinal edges located in the hollows, with lateral hollowings in which packing pieces are held, which are applied against the walls of the hollows by their parts which protrude outside the hollowings. The lateral hollowings of the longitudinal edges 5 of the slider are provided in the form of edge cutouts 7 comprising, at the transverse edges 8, profiled parts in the form of ribs 9, to each of which is attached a nose piece 10 forming a hook, directed in the longitudinal direction. The packing pieces 11 are provided in the form of a stirrup having a convex curve and are provided, at their ends, with fork-shaped base parts 12, by means of which they can be attached to the rib-shaped profiled parts 9 and to the nose pieces 10 forming hooks. The device may be applied in the case of locking cursors of rod-controlled closures for windows, doors or other items of the same type. <IMAGE>
