<p>A plurality of panels (5) which contain a relatively large number of electrically interconnected photoelectric cells (2) are inserted alongside one another at a distance into a folding pocket (1) which is composed of flexible insulating material and is open at one side. Each panel (5) is in electrical contact via solder strips (3, 4) with connecting strips (7) extending along the longitudinal edges of the folding pocket (1) and incorporated in the material of the folding pocket (1). The connecting strips (7) are composed of a flexible metal fabric and form a series and/or parallel connection of the panels (5). Corresponding voltages can be taken off at the appropriate currents from the contact elements (6, 6a) which are designed as contact screws and at the same time mechanically secure the solder strips (3, 4) of the panels (5) to the connecting strips (7) and the material of the folding pocket (1). As a result the panels (5) are connected without using cables. It is furthermore possible to transport the connected panels conveniently and in a protected manner in the folded state of the folding pocket.
