PURPOSE:To produce a compact distributor by providing a central connecting terminal and a plurality of side connecting terminals at the inside of cap while connecting through switching means and providing a permanent magnet corresponding with the switching means on the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:In a cap 3, central connecting terminal 8 and four side connecting terminals 9 are connected through switching means 12. The switching means 12 is constructed by arranging a pair of contact tongues 14, 15 in high vacuum glass tube 13 while facing each other. While single permanent magnet 16 is secured to the position corresponding with each switching means 12 on the end face 2a of cam shaft 2. Upon rotation of cam shaft 2 through rotation of engine, contact chips 14, 15 will contact each other through magnetic force of permanent magnet 16 and conduct every time when the permanent magnet 16 will come to the position corresponding with each switching means 12. Consequently, the central connecting terminal 8 and each side connecting terminal 9 will conduct sequentially thus to fire each cylinder sequentially. |
