Spanning tractor, characterised in that the seat 6 for the driver is situated in front of the equaliser 15 and well below the latter, a space sufficient to allow the passage of a row of plants being provided between the said seat and the corresponding leg 7 of the vehicle. The chassis of the vehicle is composed of an armature in the shape of an upturned U whose branches 7 form the legs of the tractor, the median part 2 of the chassis supporting the equaliser 15 and a platform 3 for supporting the seat of the driver and the engine 5. Each front steering wheel 8 is situated at one end of an arm 9 articulated by its other end to the lower part of the corresponding leg 7, the said arm extending at 11 beyond its axis of articulation and being connected, by the interposition of a rod 13, to the corresponding end of the equaliser 15. <IMAGE>
