The elongate retaining element (10) has three longitudinal channels (2, 3) which all run parallel to one another. First parts (1a) of connecting bars (1) are accommodated in the outer longitudinal channels (2). The first parts (1a), located one next to the other, are fastened in the longitudinal channels (2) by means of bostitch clamps (11). The third longitudinal channel (3) is delimited by two webs (4). The end surfaces (4a) of the webs (4) are provided with longitudinal ribs (5). After the concreting of the first structure, in which the second parts (1b) of the connecting bars (1) are concreted in, the first parts (1a) are bent out and aligned with the second parts (1b). The first parts (1a) have been freed from the concrete beforehand by hammer blows. This results in a rough surface on the wall of the first structure. The third channel (3) provides a longitudinal rib which is intended to absorb lateral shear forces of the second structure to be concreted. <IMAGE>
