PURPOSE:To form an optical lens which is highly resistant to heat, hot water, impact, light and weather and to obtain a high antireflection effect by using a thermosetting resin having a specific refractive index as a base material for the lens and providing a film contg. silica on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:The base material for the lens is an independent polymer of a monofunctional and/or multifunctional monomer having an aryl group in the state of being directly bound with Br, Cl and/or carbon at the main chain and/or side chain of a high polymer or a copolymer of said polymer and the other copolymerizable monofunctional and/or multifunctional monomer and is further the three-dimensionally crosslinked resin of which the refractive index of the resulted polymer is >=1.55. The film contg. 5-80wt% silica is coated on such base material for the lens, by which the quantity of the halogen atoms contained therein is 1-75wt% when expressed by wt% is preferably used. |
