PURPOSE:To obtain a poultry egg capable of retaining its freshness effectively, by adding corn steep liquor and magnesium to a feed for laying poultry. CONSTITUTION:A feed is added with 1-10wt% corn steep liquor (solid basis) and 0.1-1wt% Mg based on the feed. Magnesium carbonate is a preferable Mg source. The Haugh unit of the egg can be improved without causing adverse effect to the health of the poultry and to the productivity of egg by feeding the poultry with the feed produced by the above method, and the egg can be preserved without causing the lowering of the Haugh unit. A freshness-retaining effect can be imparted to an egg by this process in appearance, and the process is useful extremely from industrial viewpoint. |
