The marking machine with a supporting body with rollers projecting from one side, travelling along a guide parallel to a surface to be marked, e.g. at right angles to it, has a marking unit attached to the body, above the marking zone. Under the connection with the marking unit is an electromagnetic drive for raising and lowering it vertically, carrying the marking tip with it. The marking unit carries a marking medium reservoir operated by a valve and its electrical switching device, mounted on top of the supporting body. This valve has three connections and two switching positions, and is operated in synchronism with the vertical movement of the marking unit. The machine can have multiple marking points, each with its own electrically operated valve for its markinq medium.
