The production of cold and/or heat according to an absorption cycle is obtained with a novel working fluid F consisting of a mixture of dichlorotetrafluoroethane R114 and (an)other halogenated hydrocarbon(s). The use of this fluid F in association with a solvent in a heat pump or a refrigeration apparatus enables an improved performance coefficient to be obtained.
