The tube according to the invention comprises an inner tube 11 made from polybutylene, a jacket 12 made from aluminium sheet composed of aluminium strips and gripped tightly between two polyethylene layers 13. A braid 14 of intersecting polyester-fibre tapes is stretched around the jacket and joined to the latter by means of the outer layer 13; the tapes 14 form a openwork (mesh) structure including intestices 15. Finally, the tube is covered with an outer jacket 16 made from polypropylene. Application to pipework for under-floor heating and for hot and cold water. <IMAGE>
