Air-intake-side secondary air feed device for an internal combustion engine with a first and a second secondary air feed duct (11, 12), which lead to an air intake duct on the downstream side of a throttle valve (5), a retardation device being provided in the second secondary air feed duct (12) on the downstream side of an opening and closing valve (18) which is arranged in the second secondary air feed duct (12), and a pressure feed duct (17) making the connection between a pressure chamber (16a) of an air control valve (16), which is arranged in the first secondary air feed duct (11), and a part of the second secondary air feed duct (12) between the retardation device and the opening and closing valve (18). One of the secondary air feed ducts (11, 12) thereby serves as passage for the application of a vacuum to the pressure chamber (16a) of the air control valve (16), and the opening and closing valve (18) serves as switch device for switching between the ambient air pressure and the vacuum, which are to be respectively fed to the pressure chamber (16a) of the air control valve (16). <IMAGE>
