PURPOSE:To carry out a lining easily without any crack by coating the blank for lining on the outer peripheral face of a core metal with giving a tension thereto in advance and by engaging the core metal and the part to be lined of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Both axle ends of a core metal 2 are pulled with gripping by a socket and rotated with giving a tension and a lining layer 3 is formed by build-up welding method, etc. on the outer peripheral face of the core metal 2. It is then cooled and its rotation is stopped to release the tension giving. A thin diffusion layer 7 is then formed if necessary on the outer peripheral face of the lining blank 3. After the engagement of the cylinder 1 and core metal 2 these are unified by the ironing with a die, etc., heated in the atmosphere of argon gas, etc. and an intermediate body is obtd. with diffusing and joining them via the diffusion layer 7. The cylinder product 4 having a lining 5 with a corrosion resistant and wear resistant alloy, etc. on the inner face of the cylinder 1 is then obtd. by removing with cutting the diffusion layer part to the core metal 2 and the core metal 2 by a long hole cutter after cooling.
