PURPOSE:To improve purifying efficiency and durability by installing a catalyst layer at the upper end opening portion of a combustion cylinder and a screening plate which has many ventilation holes at a specified distance lower from the catalyst layer. CONSTITUTION:The screening plate 8 is installed at the upper part of a combustion chamber 5 in such a way that the plate is placed at a specified distance 9 lower from the catalyst 7 and has many ventilation holes. By the plate 8, a flow path of the exhaust gas by combustion is changed in the direction of the arrow b and exhausted from the central part b. The flow path of a part of the exhaust gas is changed in the direction of the arrow c via space 9 lower from the catalyst 7 and exhausted from the outer edge part B of the catalyst 7. A part of the exhaust gas is also exhausted from the part B via the holes 8a. The ventilation is made in such a way as to reduce flow resistance and prevent decrease in heat draft power. As the exhaust gas is dispersed uniformly in the wide area of the catalyst 7, degradation of catalyst is prevented and its durability is improved by remarkably improving purifying efficiency and preventing excess local heating.
