PURPOSE:To increase the resolution toward signal time series, by removing a factor of deterioration of S/N, by enabling to read out entire signal charge with a single pulse sets so that the noise charge due to dark current in a register and leakage of light can be fed to an output circuit with a given level. CONSTITUTION:Each electric charge signal in photoelectric conversion with photoelectric conversion elements 1a-1e, 2a-2e, and 3a-3e, is fed to an output circuit 22 via charge transfer registers 17, 18 and 19 provided adjacently to each column. The transfer final stages of the registers 17, 18 and 18, 19 adjacent with each other are connected with delay registers 21, 22 having the number of transfer stages more than the number of transfer stages of the registers 17, 18, 19. Transfer pulse in common to the delay registers 21, 22 and registers 17, 18, 19 is fed, and after all the signals obtained from an arbitrary element column are fed to the circuit 22, the signal obtained from the element column read out next is fed to the circuit 22 via the delay registers 21, 22, allowing to increase the resolution toward signal time series. |
