摘要 Methods and apparatuses of this kind are used for casting thin strands with a high output, i.e. a relatively high casting rate. With these methods and apparatuses, the aim is to produce a surface which is free of transverse and longitudinal cracks and is without casting marks. The aim is to eliminate the disadvantages caused by a moving mould, i.e. the oscillation marks formed, in the continuous vertical or horizontal casting of metals with an oscillating mould or with a relative motion between the cast strand and the horizontal continuous casting mould, in order thereby to achieve a higher surface quality. For this purpose, it is proposed that the molten metal (1) be introduced at the outlet of the nozzle (3) adjoining the pouring aperture of the continuous casting mould (4) and that a metal foil (5) be in each case taken along continuously during casting, at least at two opposite cross-sectional sides, at the withdrawal rate (6) of the cast strand (7). The transition from the nozzle (3) to the continuous casting mould (4) or casting space (4a) of the latter by the flow of molten metal is made with the formation of a stationary meniscus (8) while maintaining a dynamic equilibrium of the flow parameters. <IMAGE>
