<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a smooth oriented polyester film having excellent sliding pro perties and abrasion resistance by including specific inactive inorganic particles in polyester. CONSTITUTION:Polyester constituting an oriented polyester film is of polyester, 80mol% or more of main repeated units therein consists of ethylene terephthalate. The mean grain size of silica and titanium oxide particles as first components of inactive inorganic particles to be added must extend over 0.01- 0.5mum, and the quantity of them added is required to extend over 0.01-1.0wt% to said polyester. The mean grain size of calcium carbonate particles as a second component must be kept within a range to 0.5mum from 0.01mum, and the quantity of it added must extend over 0.005-1.0wt% to said polyester. The oriented polyester film has excellent surface smoothness, sliding properties and abrasion resistance, and scuffing marks and the quantity of white powder generated are reduced remarkably.</p> |
