NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R is formula II (R1 is a group of formula III, etc.] in the form of a free base. EXAMPLE:1-(2-Guanidinoethylsulfonyl)-3,7-dimethyl-9-(1,2,6-trimethyl-2 -cyclohexen- 1-yl)-2,6-nonadiene and a salt thereof. USE:Expected as an antispasmodic agent, having action of suppressing the contraction of smooth muscles of intestinal tracts, blood vessels, etc., and capable of exhibiting improved antimicrobial action and inhibitory action on Na-K- ATPase. PREPARATION:For example, a certain kind of sponge is crushed, extracted with a suitable solvent, purified by column chromatography and isolated to give the aimed compound expressed by formula I .
