The invention relates to a plastic slide plate for a rail switch with switch chair and switch tongue, in which the switch tongue is essentially displaceable in a horizontal plane on the surface of the slide plate, received by the switch chair, and essentially introduces into the slide plate loading forces running perpendicularly or obliquely with respect to the horizontal. In order in the case of such an arrangement to withstand even extreme peak values of the loading forces, it is provided that the plastic slide plate contains reinforcing elements in fibrous or platelet form, which are orientated at least partially in the direction of the loading forces introduced.
