The base has a relatively large number of slats (2) (the end of such a slat is visible in Figure 4). Assigned to each slat (2) are two elastic abutments (3) which exert forces which act on the slat (2) in the longitudinal direction thereof and attempt to bend the slat (2) upwards. The abutments (3) assigned to a slat (2) are connected to one another by a tension element (16) which is variable in length. Due to the elastic abutment (3), the elastic restoring force does not or does not completely have to be raised by the slat material. Unloaded slats are also pressed back into their desired curvature even after prolonged usage, such that material fatigue does not result in permanent deformation of the slats (2). <IMAGE>
