The compound, 8-chloro-6,11-dihydro-11-(4-piperidylidene)-5H-benzo¨AD5,6¨BDcyclohepta¨AD1,2-b¨BDpyridine, and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof possess antihistaminic properties with substantially no sedative properties. Methods for preparing and using the compound and salts are described.
