<p>For transmitting data signals over a wired broadcasting system from a head end to individual subscriber terminals, synchronised sinusoidal and square wave power signals are generated at the head end. A transmission gate network is controlled by the data signals to connect one or other of the sinusoidal and square wave power signals to the wired system connecting the head end to the subscriber terminals in accordance with the data signals. A low pass filter provided in each subscriber terminal derives a sinusoidal power signal from the distributed signal for powering the terminal, and the output of the low pass filter is compared with the distributed signal to detect the data signal.</p> |
