PURPOSE:To perform build-up welding of a hot working roll, etc. without inducing seizure and to improve detachability of slag by incorporating a specific amt. of specific components into a flux and specifying the basicity expressed by the specific formula. CONSTITUTION:A flux for welding contg. 10-35% (weight %, hereinafter the same) CaCO3, 4-12% SiO2, 25-45% Al2O3, 1-10% MgO, 10-20% metallic fluoride, 0.5-5% metallic Al, 1-7% metallic Ti and 1-7% metallic Nb is used in build-up welding of 13Cr steels.
