A membrane for the inactivation of heparin in blood or in blood fractions has a separation limit in the range from 30,000 to 25,000 D and is completely or partly coated with a heparin-cleaving enzyme on the side to which the particles which are larger than the abovementioned separation limit have no access. Also described are the use of the membrane in a blood treatment system known per se, and a method for removing heparin from blood or blood fractions using this membrane.
