The design applied for under the name "swimming shoe", a device for increasing forward propulsion during swimming, represents a swimming aid which is an alternative to the flipper, guarantees, by suitable design, a very great difference in water resistance when the feet are being moved forwards or backwards, and in this manner, as well as by increasing the surface area, achieves a substantial increase in forward propulsion with improved utilisation of the leg work.
