PURPOSE:To prevent an endless belt from being exerted with unreasonable force, by providing a roller support means for making a self-absorptive roller in contact with the surface of the endless belt under the weight thereof, so that the self-absorptive roller cleans the endless bet. CONSTITUTION:In a belt cleaning unit 30, the rotary shaft 40 of a self-absorptive roller 36 is fitted in elongagted holes 39 in the end walls 32 of an attaching frame 34, and the roller 36 is made in contact with the surface of an endless belt 10 under the weight of the roller 36. The material of the roller 36 is special silicon rubber, etc. from which a liquid such as lubrication oil, spontaneously oozes out to the outer surface of the roller 36. With this arrangement, pencil powder, eraser dust, etc. which are gradually accumulated on the surface of the endless belt 10 are removed by the roller 36 which is made in contact with the surface of the belt 10 under the weight of the roller, so that the surface of the belt 10 may be always maintained to be clean. Accordingly, an original copy may be transferred with a constant level of transfer force with no unreasonable force being exerted to the belt 10. |
