FATIGUE FRACTURE DETECTING APPARATUS FOR ROTATING MEMBER MADE OF FRP

PURPOSE:To detect beforehand the fatigue fracture of a rotating member made of FRP accurately and certainly by arranging a long carbon fiber at said rotating member, and detecting the breakage of said carbon fiber by a coil. CONSTITUTION:The long carbon fiber 11 which breaks before the fatigue fracture of a wheel H is arranged at the outer circumference surface of the rim part of the wheel H made of FRP in one body therewith and independently of electricity. Both ends of the fiber 11 are connected to an induction coil 13 by lead wire. A primary coil 14 and a secondary coil 15 are arranged so that the coil centers are made coincident with that of the coil 13. The fatigue of the wheel H is alarmed basing on the induced current variation of the coil 15 due to the breakage of the fiber 11.
