PURPOSE:To match the head center to the center of a reproducing track (residual effective magnetic flux width of information signal) by applying wighting to a crosstalk amount of a pilot signal from an adjacent track. CONSTITUTION:A gain adjusting circuit 23 inserted between an amplifier circuit 16 and a BPF17 is a gain adjusting circuit to apply weighting to a modulation output of a frequency fH from the left adjacent track. Through the constitution above, since the APC is applied so that the difference between two crosstalk amount C1 and C2 is zero by bringing the gain of the gain adjusting circuit 23, that is, the gain of the modulation output of the frequency fH on the basis of the gain of the modulation output to a frequency 3fH to 1+2omega, the balancing point reaches x=t and the tracking phase with the largest margin is obtained.
