PURPOSE:To obtain a device possible for accurate clamping and having high blooming preventing effect by applying recombination of a part of an electric charge to majority carrier during the 2nd adding period just after a horizontal blanking period shorter than almost the entire period in the horizontal blanking period or the 1st adding period just before the entire period. CONSTITUTION:An AB pulse phiAB which recombines an excess electric charge to holes at the center of surface recombination and relinguishes it is impressed to a photodetecting section 1 together with a transfer clock phiPI. Moreover, transfer clocks phiPB, phiS are impressed respectively to a storage section 2 and a horizontal transfer register 3. A decoder 511 outputs various timing pulses in response to the output state of counters 509, 510. That is, a timing signal for a composite synchronizing signal C.Sync, a composite blanking signal C.BLK, and transfer pulses phiPI, phiPS, phiS is outputted and fed to a driver circuit 506. Since the signal is fed during almost blanking period only in this example of execution while the optical image is made incident and stored in an image sensor, the noise on the screen is suppressed.
