<p>A mechanism (60) is provided in a baler for changing the positions of the side rails (38) and the top rail (28) of a bale case (10) to adjust bale density. The mechanism (60) includes side members (64) pivotally connected to the side rails (38) and a top member (86) secured to the top rail (28). Lever members (72) are pivotally connected to the side members (64) and also engage the top member (86). A hydraulic cylinder unit (76) is connected between the lever members (72) to move the lever members (72) toward each other. This causes the side members (64) to be pivoted toward each other thereby moving the side rails (38) toward each other to reduce the width of the baling chamber (10). The movement of the lever members (64) toward each other also causes the top member (86) to be moved downwardly thereby moving the top rail (28) downwardly to reduce the height of the baling chamber (10).</p> |
