Xanthine compounds of the formula: <IMAGE> in which: R1 is hydrogen or (C1-C5) alkyl; R2 is hydrogen, (C1-C5) alkyl optionally having a double bond, or benzyl; R3 is hydrogen or methyl; A is (CH2)n, in which n is an integer from 1 to 4, optionally substituted, when n is higher than 1, by hydroxy; X is nitrogen or <IMAGE> and the substituents R are each (C1-C5) alkyl or they form together a polymethylene chain from C4 to C6, optionally containing an oxygen or a sulfur atom. These compounds and physiologically tolerable acid addition salts thereof may be used as medicines especially in the treatment of migraine and asthenia. |
