PURPOSE:To provide a constitution having the finest photosensitive characteristic by providing an adequate intermediate layer between the photoconductive layer and surface protective layer of a photosensitive body to improve the electrical joining between the photoconductive layer and the surface protective layer so that there is substantially no need for considering the resistance to printing and environment for the photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body is so constituted that the difference in the optical energy gap between the photoconductive layer 3 and the surface protective layer 5 is at least 0.5eV, that the value of the optical energy gap of the intermediate layer 4 is the intermediate value of the optical energy gap of the layers 3, 5 and that the differences in the optical energy gap between the layer 3 and the layer 4 and between the layer 5 and the layer 4 are respectively <=0.4eV. The carriers are thus made smoothly movable between the three layers 3-5 and the defects arising from the accumulation of the carriers is prevented. The thickness of the layer 4 is preferably made 0.005-0.3mum. |
