PURPOSE:To improve the discharge characteristic of a solid electrolyte battery by using a vitreous solid electrolyte containing lithium sulfide (Li2S), diboron trisulfide (B2S3) and lithium iodide (LiI). CONSTITUTION:After Li2S, B2S3 and LiI are pulverized and dried, the thus prepared powders are mixed in a molar ratio of (e.g.) 30:20:50. Next, the mixture is vacuum packed into a quartz ampoule which is then heated in an electric furnace at 800 deg.C for 30min before being rapidly cooled. The thus prepared solid electrolyte material is crushed again until a powder of 400 mesh is obtained. After that, the powder is compressed and molded to make a pellet-like solid electrolyte. |
